It was built in the early 18th Century and was the site of a Tudor manor house built for a Courtier of Queen Elizabeth I. The Walled Garden is also home to a gallery and café which architecturally resembles a boat, from which visitors can enjoy a lovely view of the River Thames. During the summer months the Walled Garden hosts several annual concerts and plays. Sunbury-on-Thames is also only 15 minutes away from Hampton Court Palace, a favourite of King Henry VIII. The annual Hampton Court Flower Show brings lots of tourists and media attention to the area each year.
